North Country artists and arts supporters are invited to perform, present, and display their work – and enjoy the work of others – at an informal 'BYOP–Bring Your Own Poetry, Painting, Performance, Presentation and Potluck' on Tuesday, February 9, at 6 p.m. at the Sugar Hill Town Hall. The BYOP is hosted each year by the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire as an informal celebration and showcase of the region's talent and artistic enterprise, and follows the Alliance's annual meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants are welcome to attend the meeting, or to come for the potluck at 6 p.m. or for the 6:45 p.m. program.
This year, Bill Mellekas of Franconia will emcee the program, along with fiddler Patrick Ross, who promises to share some lively tunes. Poets, dancers, actors, visual artists, and craftspeople of all ages are encouraged to bring work, and to talk about it. Member organizations are also invited to give a brief presentation on their organization's activities. Children are welcome to attend – and to present. Cold drinks will be provided, as will homemade chili and cornbread; potluck participants are invited to bring their favorite appetizer, salad, main dish or dessert. There is no admission, but donations are welcome. Pre-registration is requested, particularly for those interested in performing or bringing artwork, and for member organizations who wish to give a brief presentation.
