Tales & Tricksters is a whimsical collection of stories and poems that will tickle the funny bone and delight the young at heart. The Story Theatre Troupe, under the direction of Liz Krane, is NHTP’s newest youth program and features performers ages 8 to 13 from several different seacoast communities. Tales & Tricksters is designed to captivate younger audience members and their families with tales and poems from Ireland, Africa, eastern Europe and the US.

Story Theatre Troupe is the newest addition to NHTP's audition-based youth companies and focuses on learning acting technique through story theatre, an ensemble performance style based on children's literature, traditional tales, and original writing. "Story theatre is the essence of all NHTP productions," says artistic director Genevieve Aichele, "with student artists working as a collaborative community to create a performance that is meaningful to both participants and audience members."
